This is Chet, in his Sunday best, seated on “Shorty”. I can tell you being dressed like this generally happened for two occasions, a Saturday dance or Church. There was a family rule. If you went to the first one you were going to the second one. The hat is today what we might call a,”Tom Mix” hat. Chet said they wore Stetson hats. From time to time he would explain with some detail the quality and he and his brother Rex’s personal preference. You’ll notice the pants. They “could” fit over the boots, but why hide a perfectly good pair of boots. Chet wore cowboy boots until the last few years of his life, although he did start turning the pants over the boots.
